Salon is for sites that want the homepage to feel like a magazine cover — one lead story you can't miss, then a grid of supporting pieces with cover images and category tags.
That layout borrows the mood of Ghost Liebling without trying to be a pixel-perfect port: centered Playfair masthead, a full-bleed featured card, and pill tags that read as section labels. The chrome stays out of the way so the photography and headlines can carry the first viewport.
None of that requires Ghost. Salon implements the pattern as a Dune-native theme with the usual templates, search, archives, and config panel.
